Two people have been hospitalized following a small plane crash northwest of Mineral Wells Airport.

The craft was a twin-engine Piper Comanche. Two of the three people on board were hospitalized; the other suffered no injuries.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Lynn Lunsford said the plane crashed about 7:20 p.m. while attempting to land.

The pilot had reported engine trouble, Lunsford said.

The craft is registered to Jeremy Walters of Temple. A man by that name is a flight instructor for Temple-based Central Texas Flight Training.

The FAA is investigating.
