Melissa McKinney

Personal Injury Lawyer

I’m personal injury attorney Missy McKinney aka Mama Justice. For almost twenty years I’ve been helping my clients – everyday people in Mississippi, Tennessee and now Texas – get through some of the most difficult times of their lives after a serious accident with injuries. I listen, I care, and I have a lot of empathy for your situation. That’s why I work so hard to get you the best possible results for your personal injury case.

I was born in Tupelo Mississippi on August 16, 1965, to Wayne and Shelia Rakestraw both of whom spent their lives working in the furniture industry in North Mississippi.  I have a younger sister and brother who both still reside in Mississippi.  I graduated from East Union Attendance Center in 1983, and later graduated from Northeast Community College and the University of Mississippi (aka Ole Miss) with an Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees in business, respectively.  After working in the banking industry for a little over ten years, I decided to go to law school at Ole Miss.  At the time, I had two young sons, Macon and Cole, but with God’s help made it through three grueling years of law school and passed the Mississippi Bar in 2000.  I am licensed to practice law in Mississippi, Tennessee and working on my Texas Bar today.

I have had extensive and successful litigation experience in representing clients in family law, bankruptcy, criminal, personal injury and workers’ compensation cases.  However, my passion is helping injured victims in car wrecks and other accidents receive their fair and just compensation.  Let me help you in your time of need!
